Near the Amstetten-West motorway exit of the A1, which connects Linz and Vienna, one of the largest electric vehicle charging parks in Austria has gone into operation after less than four months of construction. In the 'Auf der Oiden' area, a site has been created on more than 3,000 m² that can accommodate up to 50 charging spaces. The new charging park is the first major project of the newly founded Ladewerke Amstetten, a subsidiary of the Stadtwerke Amstetten, which also participated in an innovation project on bidirectional charging last year.
However, the new charging park is not operated entirely by Ladewerke Amstetten. Rather, they have rented out the spaces to various charging providers. These include Ionity, Tesla, and the energy provider Niederösterreich (EVN). Accordingly, the prices may vary depending on which provider’s charging station the EV drivers use.
