In 2002, Hotel Exel opens under the management of Rudolf Decker. There were initial plans for a bed and breakfast hotel as early as 1938.
After the death of Alfred and his mother Valerie, Leopoldine takes over the management of the bakery (now a café) alone.
The adjacent building "Emil Rainer" is demolished, creating a wide connection between the main square and Preinsbacher Str.
In 1948, after returning from the war, Alfred marries Leopoldine Mayrhofer from Aschbach.
The Exel family consists of Julius, Valerie and their two sons Alfred and Julius (jr.). In 1948, after the death of the father and brother, Valerie and Alfred take over the management of the bakery.
On April 15 1907, Julius and Valerie take over the bakery at the main square of Amstetten.
